On the Ambassador’s visit to Croatia

     On May 27, 2020, took place the visit of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Croatia (with residence in Budapest), A. Ponomarev, in Rijeka to attend the memorial ceremony in connection with the death of the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Rijeka Vidoje Vujić.

Significant efforts of V. Vujić as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Rijeka helped to strengthen regional cooperation between Belarus and Croatia, promoted partnership between Belarusian and Croatian educational institutions, and established dialogue between the chambers of commerce of Gomel and Rijeka. Thanks to the efforts of V. Vujić the exhibition “Heritage of Belarus” was presented in the center of Rijeka in May 2019.


 


At the event, the Ambassador met with the new chairman of the chamber of commerce of the Primorsko-Goranska County prof. H. Bezić, Rector of the University of Rijeka prof. S. Prijić-Samaržija and Mayor of Rijeka
V. Obersnel.

Within the framework of the working visit, the Ambassador also met with the ex-President of Croatia S. Mesić and discussed the implementation of the agreements that were reached during the visit of the Croatian politician to Minsk in October last year.
