On the solemn events on the occasion of celebration of the 70-th Anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War

On the 8th of May, 2015, Mr. Aliaksandr Khainouski, Ambassador of Belarus in Hungary, and diplomats of the Embassy took part in the wreath laying ceremony on the occasion of celebration of the 70-th Anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War.

The ceremony was organized by embassies of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
The wreath laying ceremonies where hold on the Szabadság square in the center of Budapest, where erected the monument for soviet soldiers, who liberated Budapest in 1945, and on the Kerepesi cemetery – the biggest burial place of the soviet soldiers in Budapest (7 thousand graves, nearly 5 thousand with names).

In ceremonies also took part representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs and defense of Hungary, civil veterans and antifascists NGO’s, ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mongolia, Macedonia, Cuba, Venezuela, representatives of diplomatic corps.

On May 9, 2015, representative of the Embassy will take part in the solemn wreath laying ceremony in Kaposvár, where erected the monument for soviet soldiers, who liberated Hungary.
On May 13, 2015, representatives of the Embassy will take part in the solemn ceremony of reburial of remains of soviet soldiers in Miskolc.

Also, next week the Embassy is planning to organize film screening of two movies, reflecting different views towards the Second World War events of the territory of Belarus: “In the fog” and “Brest fortress”.
