Ambassador of Belarus A.Ponomarev on working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina

On July 1-3, 2021 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to to Bosnia and Herzegovina Aleksandr Ponomarev paid a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As part of the visit, the Ambassador met with Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BIH Staša Košarac. The current state and prospects of existing contacts were discussed, and a plan of bilateral visits for the near future was agreed upon.

Aleksandr Ponomarev also met with the legal adviser of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina to agree on further steps to develop the legal and contractual framework of bilateral relations.

On July 2, 2021 with the assistance of Honorary Consul of Belarus Nedeljko Elek a reception on the occasion of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus was organized in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time in the history of the bilateral relations. The event was attended by heads of state institutions of the country and its regions, representatives of the business community, the public, and the diplomatic corps accredited in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the event, Ambassador Aleksandr Ponomarev noted the positive trend of intensifying bilateral relations, including in the trade and economic sphere, and the parties' focus on developing contacts. Minister Staša Košarac also made a welcoming speech as a guest of honor.
