The meeting of the group was co-chaired by the Vice-Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Sherbakov and the Vice-President of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office of Hungary István Szabó. After almost a five-year break since the first meeting of the working group, the parties had an opportunity to examine in detail the national strategies for scientific-technical and innovative development, as well as to share the experience in implementation of the innovative developments into the economy and in attraction of investments for this purpose.

At the end of the meeting the significant untapped potential of the bilateral cooperation in science and technology was noted. The priorities of bilateral interaction in this area for the near future were determined, including the resumption of the contest of joint scientific and technical projects with the subsequent approval of the list for a two-year period.
