On the working visit of Ambassador A. Ponomarev to Zagreb

          On June 16-17, 2020, a working visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Croatia (concurrently) Alexander Ponomarev to Zagreb took place.

A. Ponomarev took part in the reception on behalf of the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanovic on the occasion of his assumption of office. During a brief conversation, the head of the Croatian state confirmed the interest of the Croatian side in expanding contacts with Belarus in various areas of cooperation.

Within the framework of the visit, a number of working meetings of the Ambassador to the state bodies of Croatia took place. In the Ministry of Economy, the Belarusian Ambassador had a meeting with Minister Darko Horvat, and in the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia – with Political Director Petar Mihatov. Ways of intensifying Belarusian-Croatian relations were discussed with an emphasis on trade and economic cooperation. Among the priority measures is the convening of an intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation and holding of its first meeting.
