Economic Cooperation with Croatia

     In 2018 trade in goods between Belarus and Croatia amounted to 22.5 mln US dollars (135% year-over-year), including export from Belarus – 12.8 mln dollars (196.7%) and import from Croatia – 9.8 mln dollars (95.6%). Balance of trade was positive for Belarus – 3 mln dollars.

     Belarus’s exports to the Croatia in 2018 included mineral or chemical potassic fertilisers (10.1 mln dollars), bars and rods of iron or non-alloy steel (0.5 mln. dollars), artificial waxes and prepared waxes (0.5 mln dollars), plywood (0.4 mln dollars), new pneumatic tyres (0.2 mln dollars). Major goods supplied by Croatia to Belarus were medicaments (3.3 mln dollars), shaving preparations (1.4 mln dollars), acrylic polymers (0.8 mln dollars), electrical apparatus for switching or protecting electrical circuits (0.6 mln. dollars), sheets for veneering (0.4 mln dollars).

     In January-May 2019 trade turnover between the countries reached 7.9 mln dollars (79.5%), export from Belarus – 3.8 mln dollars (70.5%), import from Croatia – 4 mln dollars (90.4%). Balance in trade is negative for Belarus – 0.2 mln dollars.

     Bilateral trade in services in 2018 amounted to 8.7 mln dollars (108.7% year-over-year), including export of services from Belarus – 4.2 mln dollars (136.7%), import – 4.5 mln dollars (91%).

     In January-April 2019 trade in services reached 4.3 mln dollars (193.4%), export – 1.9 mln dollars (130.7%), import – 2.4 mln dollars (305,8%).

     In 2018 Croatian foreign investment to Belarus made up 9.2 mln dollars (0.17 mln dollars in 2017), including 10.2 thousand dollars as FDI. The amount of Belarus FDI to Croatia reached 33.1 thousand dollars.

     Eight Belarus-Croatian joint ventures and five representative offices of Croatian companies were registered in Belarus as of January 1, 2019.
