National Reception on the Occasion of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus
30.06.2026On 26 June 2026, ahead of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Embassy in Hungary organized a solemn reception in Budapest.
The event brought together more than 40 heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of Hungarian government bodies, the business community and the general public, Belarusian compatriots residing in Hungary, as well as partners and friends of the Embassy.
H.E. Uladzimir Ulakhovich, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Hungary, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. In his address, the Ambassador noted that Independence Day is a sacred date for every Belarusian – a national symbol of unity and victory in the fight for freedom. He emphasized that building on a foundation of peace, modern Belarus is demonstrating strong growth momentum and remains a reliable, predictable and progressive partner on the international stage.
H.E. Uladzimir Ulakhovich confirmed the readiness of Minsk to continue and deepen cooperation with Budapest, its openness to joint projects in the economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, and also highlighted the high level of development of public diplomacy tools.

A highlight of the program was the masterful performance of the Toccata by Belarusian composer Vladimir Grushevsky, presented by Gergő Nyitrai — a prizewinner of international competitions, student of the ProArtis School of Arts in Paks. The performance served as a special artistic gift from Belarus to the guests of the event.

During the reception, guests also enjoyed a performance by a clarinet quartet, whose musicians created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, fostering cultural exchange and introducing the audience to the unique character and spirit of Belarus.
