Celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory

On May 9, 2025, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Hungary Uladzimir Ulakhovich, Embassy staff and Belarusian compatriots took part in the ceremonies of laying wreaths and flowers at the monuments to the Soviet soldiers-liberators in Freedom Square and Kerepesi Cemetery in Budapest on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The celebrations also brought together the heads and representatives of the Embassies of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, China, Cuba, Laos, Vietnam, Venezuela, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil and Palestine , Federation of Jewish Communities of Hungary, Institute and Museum of Military History of the Ministry of Defence of Hungary, the Hungarian Workers' Party, the Hungarian Peace Circle, the Society for the Preservation of Military Traditions in Pécs, as well as other Hungarian public associations and anti-fascist organizations.

The staff of the Embassy of Belarus and Belarusian compatriots took part in the national action “Belarus Remembers”, paying tribute to the participants of the war, their ancestors who made an invaluable contribution to the common Victory and liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
