On the Participation of Ambassador Uladzimir Ulakhovich in the Opening Ceremony Following the Restoration of a Military Burial Site in Polgárdi

On September 11, 2026, H.E. Uladzimir Ulakhovich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus, together with the heads and representatives of the Embassies of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic, took part in a solemn ceremony to mark the reopening, following renovation, of a military burial site in Polgárdi (Fejér County, Hungary).

Tributes to the fallen heroes were also paid by Mr. László Nyikos, Mayor of Polgárdi, representatives of Hungarian civil society organisations and the business community, and the Military History Institute and Museum of the Hungarian Ministry of Defence.

Ambassador Uladzimir Ulakhovich and Colonel Dzianis Volkau, Military Attaché of the Republic of Belarus, laid a wreath at the monument to Soviet soldiers who perished on Hungarian soil.

The gravesite is the final resting place of 253 soldiers who gave their lives in the battles to liberate Hungary from fascism, including the following natives of Belarus: Guard Private Nikolai Dreiko, Guard Private Pavel Kadushka, Guard Private Vasily Karas, Private Kazemir Kuzmitsky, and Private Vladimir Sechka.

May the memory of the liberating soldiers live on. No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten.
