Belarusian-Hungarian Consultation on Consular Issues
10.09.2025On September 9, 2025, online consultations were held between the Consular Directorate-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and Consular and Citizenship Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
The Belarusian delegation was headed by Andrei Kozhan, Head of the Consular Directorate-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Hungarian delegation was led by Balázs Farkas, Head of the Department of Consular Affairs and Citizenship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The heads of consular services discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation and noted the importance of regular dialogue in the format of consular consultations, aimed primarily at ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of citizens and legal entities.
Migration and visa policies of the Republic of Belarus and Hungary were discussed, with a particular focus on the exchange of experience in the field of consular procedures in the context of attracting foreign labor migrants and preventing illegal migration. Ways to protect the rights and interests of citizens of both states were considered, and information was presented on current trends and innovations in this area.
During the consultations, other consular issues of mutual interest were also discussed. The parties agreed to continue their working cooperation.
